Rachelle [ hoop dancer, belly dancer, fan dancer and fire dancer ]
Rachel Lancaster was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She fell in love with the stage at the age of three when she performed in her first dance recital in San Diego, California. She has performed in an assortment of ballets over the year with dance companies such as the California Ballet, the Princeton Ballet, and the American Academy of Dance in Paris. Other than ballet she has studied tap, jazz, modern, and belly dance.
When Rachel moved to Paris, France she took a great interest in the drama department at the International school of Paris. She performed in musical renditions of A Midsummer’s Night Dream and The Odyssey. She continued her theater training all through high school. She performed in shows such as Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth, Antigone, Jake’s Women and many more.
In fall 2008 she began her training at the University of the Arts for Acting. She has studied the Meisner Technique, voice and speech, stage combat, and a variety of movement pedagogies. She has studied with the creator of the Williamson Technique for movement during winter retreats.
Rachel has recently starred in a film directed by Ernie Losso. The movie entitled Stop Acting is designed to highlight the differences between stage and film acting. Stop Acting will premier in April 2011. Rachel is currently working on another Film entitled Adu-Namen. Filming will take place in January and the movie will be released early summer 2011.
Rachel is also an accomplished Hoop Dancer and Fire Performer.
